Cheap & Free Summer Movies Around Houston for 2017

Ahhh…summer. The time of year when schedules go out the window and we spend countless hours having fun outside! Er…or…trying to keep our kids occupied indoors. HOUSTON = HOT! Spending a few hours in the movie theater may be just what your crew needs to relax. The best part is there are family deals all over town. So, it’s okay if your kids are talking and getting up every 15 minutes for a bathroom break. Kids are expected to be there! Some movie theaters keep the lights on {very low} and they don’t crank the volume at full speed like they do for adult movies. Cool, huh?  {Still not convinced?  Try these tips for surviving a movie with kids too!}

So, let’s get to the deals you can find around town.

Other Ways to Save Money on Movies…

Buy tickets online at sites like Fandango or Movietickets.com. These sites sometimes offer lower prices, and if you are good at Googling, you can often find coupon codes to apply to your order during checkout.

Also, AMC Theatres around town offer “member” discounts. You can earn money back on future tickets and free upgrades on drinks and snacks. They also have cool giveaways and prizes for members.

And don’t forget about the dollar movies!  You won’t get the fancy chairs, and the movies might be a bit dated. But there are still dollar cinemas around town, and ticket prices are always cheap with most being just $1 – $2 per ticket!

Here are a few we could find…

  • North Oaks Dollar Cinema :: 4623 Fm 1960 Rd W
  • Windchimes Dollar Cinema 8 :: 13155 Westheimer Rd
